About this course
Java is an exciting programming language that is predominantly found in internet-related applications. One such application is the use of JavaServer Pages (JSP) to generate information from records stored in a database into HTML format so that it can be viewed by clients on a web browser. Java has the same basic principles as any other high-level programming language while boasting its ability to allow programmers to write once and run anywhere - meaning it runs on any computer regardless of the architecture and operating system used by the computer.

This course introduces participants to applications of Java in advanced computing technologies including the Internet, Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), Databases and Component-based Software Engineering.

This course consists of 3 modules. The modules are as follows:

  • Object-oriented Programming using Java
  • Java Database Connectivity and SWING Packages
  • Developing Web Applications using Java
